About Chinook

A Kennewick heating and air company, started by Dave and Kelli Hubbard in 2000

Chinook repairs and installs furnaces, heat pumps and air conditioners across the Tri-Cities. The company grew out of one man's trade, learned in Salt Lake City, and a family that wanted to raise their kids back home.

Our history

Two dates on the rule.

  2. 2000

From Chinook’s own About page

Dave Hubbard started in the HVAC business in 1987 installing radiant heating systems in the Salt Lake City area. Having grown up in Kennewick (Go Lions!), Dave wanted to settle his family here in the Tri-Cities area. He and his wife Kelli have raised five kids here (Go Lions!). They love the Tri Cities, calling it 'Home'.

Dave and Kelli chose to start their own HVAC company in 2000. Thankfully, the economy here allows the company to continue growing each year. They have a strong sense of community, providing jobs for over 150 employees … while also sponsoring youth athletic teams.

That page was written in 2022, and its headcount counts everyone hired since the company opened. When it was written, Dave had run his third marathon and Kelli was ticking items off a bucket list that included climbing Mt. Adams. How the crew works

Servicemen first.

We're servicemen first. You deserve an honest, expert opinion without the pushy sales pitch.

Chinook, on its home page

The same approach runs through the maintenance visit painted on every van. The 90 Minute Tune-Up works through a published 31 line checklist, and the initial inspection is $128.

  1. 1

    The technician finds the fault

On an air conditioning call the crew tests the system and traces the problem. Capacitors, refrigerant leaks, dirty coils and blocked drain lines are the ones Chinook says it is called out for most.

  2. 2

It is explained so you can decide

The technician tells you what failed and why, in plain words, and you make the call. Nobody is asked to sign before they understand what is wrong.

  3. 3

The price comes before the work

Chinook prices service at a flat rate and gives you the number before the job is started. If you want the fix, the crew gets on with it.
