Gas fireplace service
Gas fireplace service, cleaning and repair
An inspection first, a plain explanation of anything that needs work, and no repair until you have approved it.
Chapter 01
Your gas fireplace needs maintenance, too
A gas fireplace looks like the simplest appliance in the house, and it is easy to forget until the first cold night. Chinook Heating & Air lists quality, professional fireplace cleaning and repair among its goals, and says its fireplace specialists will precisely inspect and evaluate every fireplace before anything else happens.
A gas fireplace has a short list of parts that decide whether it lights, stays lit and burns cleanly: the burner, the pilot assembly, the thermocouple or thermopile that proves the pilot is lit, the glass front, the blower fan on units that have one, and the venting that carries exhaust out of the house. A service visit is the chance for someone trained to look at all of them together.
The work runs from simple cleaning to more extensive repairs, and Chinook says it can handle any problem in that range.

How a fireplace visit runs
The technician inspects and evaluates the fireplace first. If any repairs need to be addressed, Chinook reviews them with you and answers whatever questions you have, in a clear manner that you can understand.
Nothing is done on a guess. Chinook says anything it does is discussed with and approved by you, the customer. The technicians are experienced, and they do not have to go back to the office for a review, so the conversation about what your fireplace needs happens on your hearth.
That is the same order as a Comfort365 tune-up: look first, explain plainly, and leave the decision with the homeowner.
Chapter 03
When to book it
Chinook asks the question directly: have you had your fireplace cleaned this year? Their advice is to get it serviced before the upcoming cold winter, so that it works as expected when you need it.
A fireplace that has sat dark since spring is a poor thing to test on the coldest evening of the year. A visit before the weather turns means any repair that turns up can be handled on your timetable rather than in the middle of a cold snap.

The rest of the heating season
Book the fireplace with the furnace.
The fireplace is one part of keeping a house warm. The furnace page covers the six problems Chinook sees most in gas furnaces and air handlers, and the Comfort365 plan sets out the 90 Minute Tune-Up, two of which come with membership each year.
